CREDITS

LEICESTER MODEL BOAT CLUB:

Thanks Marie for allowing us back at short notice, to one of our favourite lakes.

Tony and Graham for Providing the rescue boat, setting up the pit area perimeter fence, and for clearing the weed around the pit area which had blown in on the wind. It took 2 hours with a rake to achieve this!

Also thanks for providing rescue crew Tony and Graham!

MARK WILD: For taking bookings and being OOD.

Mads, Sue and Robin for manning the race control and lap counting!

SUE FOR THE LOVELY CAKES!!!!!!

Judith, Craig and Sally for some great pictures (to follow).

RACE INFO SUMMARY

Good Racing ensured some exciting overtaking manoeuvres,  a few knocks and spills, all in all another fabulous day out. Many championship positions are still open so drivers are keen to win points!

King Lear lake was low, very low, resulting in some weed problems, with a couple of engines cooking after the first 2 am heats. A prompt drivers meeting agreed a change of course from square to triangle to avoid the worse of the weed carpets, and this enabled racing to continue with less weed issues.

Race order was AA, T1, A, T2, B, D.

AA and T1 (heat one) ran a usual square course, thereafter all heats a triangle with buoy 3 removed to avoid weed banks.

Mike Barnes won a new award “BEST PARKING!!” He managed to finish the race parking 20 foot up a grass verge! Well done Mike! At least no penalty fine was applied!
